Now, for the golf: let's just say that Kyle Stanley was in my mind on my approach on #18 on the South Course as I needed to stick it on the green and two putt the front-right hole location (where Tiger made his famous putt in 2008) for par and a score of 79. Fortunately, I was in the rough (which was not too thick given the time of year) so I didn't need to worry about spin. In a moment of rare brilliance, I stuck it to 18 inches, tapped in, and secured my 78.
I then decided to play the North course (which is easier by far) and found my body no longer functioning as asked due to fatigue. However, I had the fortune of being paired with two laid back locals and a nice man on vacation, who brought his wife and daughter. Their company took my focus off of score and allowed me to enjoy the round. To finish off a perfect day, after back-to-back three putts on the back nine, I found some energy (fueled by frustration) and parred the last four holes to shoot a solid 79.
