Cimarron Golf Resort, Boulder Course Overview: More like a links golf course than most in its set-up, the Cimarron Boulder Golf Course replaces dunes-land with a massive desert wash running through the front nine and a mini-one showing up on the back nine. While a lot of the golf holes feel repetitive, there is a relaxed feel to the course and some thoughtful design around the green complexes that make scoring well a possibility, but high numbers also a real danger for the wild golfer to find. The most memorable golf holes on the Cimarron Boulder Golf Course are reviewed below:

Cimarron Golf Resort, Boulder Course Hole 1: One of only two golf holes where the wash must actually be crossed. While it doesn’t really have to come into play except for the longest drives or a duffed second shot, the player must be aware of it along with the two bunkers on the tee shot and three more around the green. The mountain views are a nice start to the round.
Cimarron Golf Resort, Boulder Course Hole 2: The first and hardest taste of what is to come on the front nine features a drive between the desert wash left and OB right. Although fairly forgiving, the player who finds one of these problems will score high here..
Cimarron Golf Resort, Boulder Course Hole 3: A short par four going in the same direction as the previous one, this is a little tighter but the golfer can just prioritize placement and still be ok.
Cimarron Golf Resort, Boulder Course Hole 4: The first par three of the day isn't particularly difficult, but the shot does have to cross the wash to a large and elevated green complex, complete with the distractions of many cars driving on the road about 50 yards elevated to the right of the green.
Cimarron Golf Resort, Boulder Course Hole 7: The hardest of the north facing par fours on the course, this one is long and a slight dogleg to the left. The green is disturbingly narrow and requires really good accuracy.
Cimarron Golf Resort, Boulder Course Hole 10: The back nine starts with this tough driving hole with trouble all the way down the left and a relatively narrow fairway. Given the hole is long, the player needs to still go after it off the tee to leave a reasonable distance to the green, which is well guarded.
Cimarron Golf Resort, Boulder Course Hole 11: This golf hole is mentioned for having the best green complex on the course featuring three massive fronting bunkers and one back left.
Cimarron Golf Resort, Boulder Course Hole 13: This par five is straight and long, with bunkers a long the way that pinch in at strategic places. The green is deep and relatively narrow, set between bunkers and the wash.
Cimarron Golf Resort, Boulder Course Hole 17: The only golf hole where water actually comes into play visually has it in abundance.
