Balboa Golf Course Overview: This Encino municipal golf course is laid out back and forth between very mature and large trees. There are no water hazards and most holes are very straightforward. The greens are fairly flat, but small. The best representation of the golf holes on this course are reviewed below:
Balboa Golf Course Hole 2: This is a very slight dogleg left par four. It is not long or narrow, but getting caught up in the trees to the left is a mistake. The green is elevated and guarded by a large bunker.
Balboa Golf Course Hole 2: This is a very slight dogleg left par four. It is not long or narrow, but getting caught up in the trees to the left is a mistake. The green is elevated and guarded by a large bunker.
Balboa Golf Course Hole 8: There are about 1/2 dozen straight par fours like this one on the course.
Balboa Golf Course Hole 10: This hole bends ever so slightly to the right and has a couple of bunkers and several large trees to contend with along the way to the green.
Balboa Golf Course Hole 11: This very short par four is fairly tight, but reachable for long hitters. Left is a really bad option from tee to green.
Balboa Golf Course Hole 16: The only true dogleg on the course bends right over a large tree and bunker. Going too far right, however, is OB, so the golfer has to make the choice of long drive and wedge, or safer with a slightly longer approach.
