Club Campestre Golf Course ReviewSan Jose del Cabo, Mexico

Club Campestre Review Summary:
This golf course is located in San Jose del Cabo. The front nine is unusual for Cabo golf courses in that it runs near and around a main public street, whereas most other golf courses are in resorts or tucked away. The back nine is more classic in this sense as it weaves between some houses and up into the hills above the city. There are good ocean views on most holes and the golf course offers a good challenge. The best golf holes are reviewed below:
Club Campestre Hole 1: The day starts with a slightly downhill, but long dogleg left par four. There is a desert wash that has to be cleared on the second shot and the green is well guarded by bunkers.

Club Campestre Hole 1: The day starts with a slightly downhill, but long dogleg left par four. There is a desert wash that has to be cleared on the second shot and the green is well guarded by bunkers.
Club Campestre Hole 3: This uphill par four has OB right and desert to the left. The green is also tightly against the desert to the left and has a couple of bunkers and a tier, so there is no relaxing on this hole tee to green.
Club Campestre Hole 7: After crossing under the main road in San Jose del Cabo and playing the short, uphill 5th hole and the hidden par three 6th, the golfer heads way up the hill to the elevated tee boxes and the view of the entire signature seventh hole. This par five weaves its way through the valley and eventually finds itself with a green well fronted and covered by a very large lake (also in play in second shot).
Club Campestre Hole 8: This short par four features more lake danger but is fairly manageable given its short length (drivable for the long, daring hitter). The better angle to most pins will be from the left side of the fairway, near the lake. The bunker complex to the right of the green is not to be trifled with.
Club Campestre Hole 10: The start to the back nine has a tough drive with desert wash all down the left. The approach is then over that to a well designed and positioned green that puts a premium on accuracy to avoid sand.
Club Campestre Hole 12: This par four has a wide landing area but positioning is key as the dogleg right sweeps around some trees and over a wash, but the green is angled and has a troublesome bunker meaning that, depending on pin position, the ideal spot in the fairway can vary day to day.
Club Campestre Hole 14: This dogleg left par four is medium length but the green is elevated and raised, with deep bunkers around it. Also, the tee shot starts near homes, but the green is possibly the most secluded and serene spot on the course, with a great view into the surrounding hills of Cabo.
Club Campestre Hole 15: The last par three of the day is long and difficult with a lake to negotiate and OB left. The green is big but danger surrounds, but the views are very nice.
Club Campestre Hole 17: This long par five is straight and slightly downhill the whole way. There is trouble left and right in the form of deserts so accuracy is key. The green is situated behind a desert wash and nestled against a hill, so the approach must have good distance control.
Club Campestre Hole 18: The finishing hole is downhill with bunkers to avoid along the way and plays to a large green with strong undulations where long putts can be difficult.
