Redhawk Golf Club, Lakes Course Overview: This golf course is located in a
unique environment on the outskirts of Reno. While the surrounding mountains and dune
brush give it the feel of a high desert course, the central marsh around which
the golf course was built makes it feel, at times, as if the golfer were in South Carolina or Florida. With plenty of water, it is a fun golf course to
play, with the best offerings listed below:
Redhawk Golf Club, Lakes Course Hole 3: A classically difficult par four, this golf hole has a lake running down its right side that comes into play on the drive and approach shot. The more of the lake the drive cuts of successfully, will leave a much shorter approach shot to the difficult green.
Redhawk Golf Club, Lakes Course Hole 3: A classically difficult par four, this golf hole has a lake running down its right side that comes into play on the drive and approach shot. The more of the lake the drive cuts of successfully, will leave a much shorter approach shot to the difficult green.
Redhawk Golf Club, Lakes Course Hole 7: This difficult, short par 4 requires two very accurate shots as there is marshland running down the entire right side of the golf hole. To make matters worse, the approach is to a narrow green and has a lake on the left side.
Redhawk Golf Club, Lakes Course Hole 12: This little par three has a pretty tee shot with a lake short and bunkers long, so distance control is a must to hit this shallow, but wide green.
Redhawk Golf Club, Lakes Course Hole 13: The first of two successive par four golf holes that runs parallel to the natural marshland of the course, this one is short enough to drive. However, that shot is a risky proposition as it must clear marshland the entire way and hit a small green. Anything right is wet, and anything left will most likely find one of a series of bunkers.
Redhawk Golf Club, Lakes Course Hole 14: Longer than the previous golf hole, this par four requires two pinpoint shots as the fairway here is narrow and the green is very shallow and surrounded by marsh on three sides. It is a good test of golfing skill.
Redhawk Golf Club, Lakes Course Hole 17: From the back tees, this is one of the most daunting holes in golf. It takes a full 220 yard carry to clear the natural marsh/lake to reach the green. If that wasn’t enough, there are plenty of bunkers and reeds that will capture a shot that is long enough, but errant.
Redhawk Golf Club, Lakes Course Hole 18: This difficult finishing golf hole has marshland left and a long series of bunkers right. The approach must be played around a large tree short and left of the green in order to find the difficult to putt green. Not an easy hole to par. (not pictured)
