Mile Square, the Classic Golf Course Review

Mile Square, the Classic Golf Course Overview: Originally the only course in Mile Square park, the “Classic” golf course features the remnants of the old course for the first 12 holes, with the last 6 being part of the renovation and more resembling of the “Players” course. The older section features rather mundane holes lined by trees and the new holes are more links style. The course doesn’t flow that well and there aren’t a ton of good holes, but the best ones are reviewed below. It should be noted that in 2022, the Classic and Players courses were merged with some new holes as well. However, this has not been re-reviewed.
Mile Square, the Classic Hole 6: The toughest golf hole on the front is a dogleg left par four that curves around a lake that (although only seasonally filled with water) is very much in play off the tee. Anything to the right to avoid the lake is good, unless it goes too far right and is blocked by trees or OB.

Mile Square, the Classic Hole 13: The first of the newly designed holes, this little par three is visually nice, but the water isn’t in play save for a topped iron. The greenside bunkering is nice and requires a very accurate shot.
Mile Square, the Classic Hole 14: This relatively short par four features a small fairway with water running all the way down the right side. For now, it isn’t too tough because one can bailout left into the rough and the trees aren’t mature enough to pose a problem, but down the road it will be a relatively scary drive on this course. The green is shallow, really wide and fronted by a large bunker.
Mile Square, the Classic Hole 15: The last par three of the day is very long and tough as the tee shot must clear the water to hit the large green. OB is pretty close on the left too, so accuracy is a must.
Mile Square, the Classic Hole 17: Not visually an attractive golf hole by any means, the final par four of the day is just brutal enough to warrant mention. Nearly always into the offshore breezes, this takes two mammoth efforts to reach the green in regulation. There are trees right and left as well, so accuracy as well as distance is key.
