Western Hills Country Club Overview: This private golf course is located in a fairly "hidden" valley somewhere in the hills of Chino. It is a classic country club feel with tight fairways and small greens. The difficulty lies in the combination of mature trees and hilly holes that are mostly found on the front nine, where the back nine is more classic back and forth, but has the water hazards the golf course features. The best golf holes are reviewed below:
Western Hills Country Club Hole 1: This dogleg left is uphill and has a very tight fairway. Going left or right are equally bad and the green is narrow and tough to hit, slick to putt and better from the below the hole.
Western Hills Country Club Hole 1: This dogleg left is uphill and has a very tight fairway. Going left or right are equally bad and the green is narrow and tough to hit, slick to putt and better from the below the hole.
Western Hills Country Club Hole 5: This par four is a strong dogleg left, again with a tight fairway. There are plenty of trees on both sides to punish inaccuracy and the approach is well uphill to a green guarded by a deep bunker.
Western Hills Country Club Hole 7: This par five is narrow but a big drive can leave the player with an opportunity to score. That being said, the green is really tough for any pin not front / right. There is a massive hill short and left of the green that will reject all but a high, perfect shot. Of course, going long has a hillside and going right of the green too far has big trees and, eventually out of bounds.
Western Hills Country Club Hole 10: The first water on the golf course is in play to the left of this dogleg left, tight driving hole. From there, a mid to short iron can be left to the green, but accuracy is key on both shots.
Western Hills Country Club Hole 11: This par four is one of several very similar ones on the back nine (and i'm not 100% sure it's even this one here, as it could be at least two others). This one does have a very narrow green between bunkers and hillside.
Western Hills Country Club Hole 17: This par five is pictured from behind the green to show the pond and the green complex is otherwise hard to see until you get pretty close to it on the hole. The danger on this otherwise straight forward hole is obvious from the picture.
