Talega Golf Club Overview: Another south
Orange County golf course winding around the hills and canyons, this one offers a challenge on
both nines. The front is classic golf
surrounded a bit by houses and the back is played more in a canyon with natural
hazards. It must be noted that holes 13
and 15 are the strangest two par fives collectively on one nine holes and will
not be discussed further as they are not strange in a good way. The holes that are worthy of mention are
reviewed below:
Talega Golf Club Hole 6: This good par five features the constant presence of hillside right, but respite to the left…until the green where a lake and steep bank await any miscue in that direction. A large hill and bunker to the right don’t make a miss to that side attractive either.

Talega Golf Club Hole 7: The second of two very similar par threes on the front this one is shorter and slightly easier, but also more visually pleasing with the rock wall lined lake to the left.
Talega Golf Club Hole 11: The downhill nature of this par five makes it reachable in two and affords nice views along the way. The danger on the left is not really danger if a long drive is struck, but right is trouble.
Talega Golf Club Hole 16: The best all around hole on the course features a drive over hazard and with hazard to the right. Of course, other than shortening the hole slightly, there is little advantage as the hazard continues to the right of the green with a much better approach for most flags coming from the left.
