Pelican Hill Golf Club, Ocean North Overview: Known for its ocean views and ritzy clientele, this high priced golf course on the Newport coast is a demanding layout with hazards in play on the majority of the golf holes. The views are indeed nice from most of the holes and the design is tough, but fair. The best holes are reviewed below:
Pelican Hill, Ocean North Hole 2: This par three is well downhill and offers view of much of the rest of the course with, of course, the ocean. Club selection is critical due to the drop from tee to green and the wind.
Pelican Hill, Ocean North Hole 2: This par three is well downhill and offers view of much of the rest of the course with, of course, the ocean. Club selection is critical due to the drop from tee to green and the wind.
Pelican Hill, Ocean North Hole 8: This par five has hazard on both sides of the drive and the canyon on the right stays throughout the hole. The green is long and narrow and the views are spectacular throughout.
Pelican Hill, Ocean North Hole 17: This long par five features water that can come into play on the drive and/or second shots. The green is narrow and tough to put and the ocean views, once again, are superb.
Pelican Hill, Ocean North Hole 18: The last hole is long and nasty with a drive that must avoid hazard left and right. The final approach of the day then has to clear a deep canyon to a narrow but wide green that is also well-bunkered and tough to putt. (not pictured)
