Los Serranos Country Club North Golf Course Review

Los Serranos Country Club North Summary: The shorter of the two 18 hole tracks at the Los Serranos golfing complex, this one is still a tough test of golf as there are enough deep bunkers close to the greens to make accurate shot making a must. Off the tee, there are only a few tough shots, but overall, the golfer must bring enough skills to avoid a few tricks along the way. The best holes are reviewed below:
Los Serranos Country Club North Hole 3: On the scorecard, this par five is quite short, but after the relatively flat drive that needs to find its way between bunkers, the hole goes way uphill and features a strongly sloping left to right green with deep bunkers in front and tough up and downs from behind.
Los Serranos Country Club North Hole 4: The first par four of the day is short and really is about the second shot. A key bunker must be flown for any right pin placement, but the front left pin must slide between that sand trap and another one left of the green. Thus, the pin that seems easiest, actually is the smallest area.
Los Serranos Country Club North Hole 9 (left): This is another short par four with the obvious trouble being the huge bunker at the end of the fairway and the trees blocking approaches from the right side rough. So, accuracy trumps distance on this hole and the back pin up on the tier is the most difficult.
Los Serranos Country Club North Hole 10 (below): This downhill par three has a teeny-tiny pond right in front of it and two well-place bunkers as well. Although it doesn't come across as scenic, it is treacherous for a poor shot.

Los Serranos Country Club North Hole 12: This short par four, dogleg left can be driven, but the green is blind from the tee, behind the large trees on the left. It is also elevated, so anything coming up short, might come back down the hill. If the aggressive drive is pulled, there will be trees, and there is OB far right. The layup option can be two short irons, so that presents an easy option.
Los Serranos Country Club North Hole 13: The longest par four on the course may not play as bad as it is downhill. The safe drive is towards the bunkers, but the big drive can cut the corner to take off nearly 100 yards to a green that is sandwiched between two deep bunkers. However, coming up short on that will leave a nasty, hillside shot off dirt, so, the player needs to weigh the risks.
Los Serranos Country Club North Hole 15: This short par four has a tight, semi-blind tee shot over a small creek. The creeks bends down the left side, but there is also heavy rough to the right with some trees. The green is big, but fronted by a lake, so distance control is key.
Los Serranos Country Club North Hole 18: The last tee shot is elevated and features a bunker right that can be cleared with a big hit, and one to the left that can only be reached by a huge drive. The green is slightly elevated with a bunker behind as well, so holding it can be challenging with longer clubs.
