TPC Sawgrass, Dye’s Valley Course Overview: Overshadowed by its famous
neighbor, this golf course still offers lots of great fun and challenge. The front nine is fairly tame, but enjoyable with lots of water hazards and adrenaline pumping shots. The back nine has a series of punishing offerings from Pete Dye and is much longer. See the most impressive golf holes reviewed below:
TPC Sawgrass, Dye’s Valley Course Hole 5: This short par three is nerve-wracking given the plentiful amount of water (and large reptiles in that water) waiting to gather the errant tee shot. However, the safe play is left-center of the green and can be negotiated.

TPC Sawgrass, Dye’s Valley Course Hole 6: This long dogleg right par four is difficult from tee to green with water running the entire length right of the fairway and Pete Dye mounding and Florida forest / swamp to the left. The best drive carries the bunker on the right, which requires length and can only be achieved if it stays less than 15 yards from the water. Anything left of that will require a second shot longer than 200 yards to the green, which is nestled against the water on the right side.
TPC Sawgrass, Dye’s Valley Course Hole 7: Another short par four, this one features a fun drive between two massive trees. The green is small and is surrounded by the usual Dye mounding.
TPC Sawgrass, Dye’s Valley Course Hole 10: Possibly the tightest drive on the golf course, water again runs all the way down the right side and a slope will take a sliced drive down into its depths. The approach is to a green with a false front that will reject anything not hit with enough authority.
TPC Sawgrass, Dye’s Valley Course Hole 11 (left): Vintage Dye, this long par three has a green perched on the edge of water on the right with uneven lies everywhere else other than the green.
TPC Sawgrass, Dye’s Valley Course Hole 16 (below): The first of two back to back par fives, this one is much better and longer. Water is in play in a very real way down the left on all three shots.
