Mesquite Golf & Country Club Summary: Fashioned in the older, more
sedate Palm Springs
style of golf, this resort course is characterized by short holes with tight
fairways, lined by trees, with condos lurking beyond those trees. Unique in the fact that this course has six
par fives, it is a fairly sedate effort, with a few decent holes, which are reviewed below:
Mesquite Golf Club Hole 1 (below): The starting hole at Mesquite is typical of what you’ll find. The fairway is tight and a miscue could lead to a tree-infested second shot or OB left or right. However, the short length of the hole allows three decent shots to find the well-bunkered green. Views of the mountains are nice here. |

Mesquite Golf Club Hole 2: On a course with tough par threes, this 224 yard beast takes the cake. There is a bunker left of the green and one short-right, so the long tee shot must also be on target. Anything left or right of the respective bunkers will be bogey or worse. (not pictured)
Mesquite Golf Club Hole 3: This interesting par five is short and there is a dry creek that runs down the right of the tee shot and then crosses in front of the second shot landing area. The aggressive play is to hit over the palm trees on the right side of the fairway, leaving a chance to go for the green in two. Going left at any point in time will leave a shot blocked by trees. Mesquite Golf Club Hole 18: The closing hole is the only par four longer than 400 yards and features a tight drive that doglegs slightly to the right. The second shot must clear the dry creek (not really a problem) to a well-bunkered green. (not pictured)
