Golf Top 18The GolfTop18 is based on the simple premise that golf rankings should come in batches of 18 (or at least in 9's if need be) and not in the classic "Top 10" one normally sees. This area has three main sections. First, I have ranked my Top golf courses, pure and simple, based on nothing more quantitative than a belief that these are my favorite tracks I've played. Given that I've played over 300 courses as of 2020, there are three nine hole "loops" represented here so that, at most, only the top 9% (see the theme?) of the courses I've played make the list. Each course within the ranking has a little information on that course. For more full detail on any course listed, go to the golf course guide. |
Secondly, I have ranked my favorite holes by golf hole number. Thus, there are three best number 1 holes and three best number 18 holes, with everything in between. Having played over 300 golf courses, this represents less than the top 1%. These are at the Dream 18, Second 18 and Third 18 pages.
Finally, I have listed my favorite 18 holes by par. So, you will find what I consider the best (a combination of beauty, challenge, uniqueness or just plain fun) Par Threes, Par Fours, and Par Fives that I have played.
In the end, I am certain that all of my lists will raise a few eyebrows at courses or holes I left off or put on, but hopefully they will also introduce the visitor to some great new golf courses or holes or whet the appetite to go play them again.
Also, please note The Honorable Mentions page where I pay homage to the courses and holes that once were listed in the hallowed halls of the GolfTop18 lists, but have since been bumped off a list.
